As part of caring for your child I also have to implement the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). This is a framework which is mandatory for all early years’ providers.

I aim to provide opportunities for every child to learn through play and these are planned through the children’s interests. I will also work closely with parents and/or carer’s to ensure the needs of their children are met.

The EYFS is split into seven areas of learning and development. Personal, social and emotional development. Communication and Language. Physical development. Literacy. Mathematics. Understanding the world. Expressive arts and design.

To help each child learn and develop in each of the areas I will provide activities such as sand, water, sensory, play dough. Creative experiences such as painting, gluing and baking. I have an outdoor area with different surfaces: a paved area and a grass area, and opportunities for planting. I also live near a park and garden center so we can walk to them.
